1940s Utility tallboy
An oak veneered tallboy cabinet consisting of four drawers and a double door cupboard with a single internal shelf.
A manufacturers badge 'Christwiner' is present on the inside of the right hand cupboard door. The CC41 logo is embossed into the top face of the drawer stretcher below the top drawer (it can only be seen when the drawer is removed). Utility furniture was marked with this logo to show that it had been made under the Government scheme that ran between 1942 and 1952, introduced to reflect the shortages of materials in the face of high demand following the Second World War.76.5cm wide x 46cm deep x 114cm high
