history
Established in 1994 by Saxon Durrant metroretro began life at Camden Stables Market in London offering a range of domestic 20th Century design. The focus at this time was on functional objects from the 1930s-1950s such as desk lighting, electric fans and telephones. Over the next few years the business expanded with an emphasis now on stripped steel furniture.
Drawing on his enthusiasm for the industrial look Saxon began designing his own range of tables and benches, mixing natural, reclaimed and new materials. These were successfully launched at the Mode Show in 2001.
The eclectic mix of industrial chic, Post War furniture and new designs has lead to ongoing sucess for metroretro from both commercial and domestic clients.
